is there any culinary arts school in malaysia and thailand?

Tuesday 13 January 2009

i am looking for certificate short-term culinary program in singapore, mayalsia and thailand, i've found some in singapore but it's too expensive, therefore i want to try malaysia and thailand, any suggestions? thanmks

My mother and sister attended cooking classes at this center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Fook Pan Cookery Institution. The center been around for more than 25 years. Their choice of courses is wide; they can teach Malaysian foods, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Chinese, Dim Sum and many more. Check out their webpage, www.fookpan.com.

I think it will be cheaper than Singapore (currency rate and cost of accomodation and food) and more choices than in Thailand where you will probably learn only Thai dishes.

Culinary arts schools?

Sunday 11 January 2009

I want to commute to a culinary arts school with a program that takes two years or less to complete, but I can't seem to find any close to the 06897 zip code (that's in Connecticut, if that's any help). Do any of you know about any?
Also, NO STUPID ANSWERS. Relevant, constructive answers only. Apologies to the more intelligent denizens of Yahoo Answers, but there seem to be a lot of them out here…

Approx. 67 miles from Wilton via I-84:
Connecticut Culinary Institute
230 Farmington Ave.
Farmington, CT 06032
http://www.ctculinary.edu

And there are lots of cooking schools in New York City (accessible from Wilton via Metro-North) and New York state. The most famous is 96 miles from Wilton, CT:
The Culinary Institute of America
1946 Campus Drive (Route 9)
Hyde Park, NY 12538-1499

Here are some lists to get you started:

Couple questions about majoring in Culinary Arts..?

Friday 9 January 2009

I want to major in culinary when I go to college.. I am going to UC because I can go there for free since my mom works there. They have a culinary program, but I was wondering if there is a lot of competion to get into the culinary programs there…
Cincinnati

What UC are you going to? There are many UC's. Do you mean the main campus Berkeley? I wasn't even sure they had a culinary program. If you want the best training I would go to The Culinary Institute Of America or a Johnson and Wales campus. Good Luck!

What is the difference between an Associates of Applied Science and Associates of Occupational Health?

Saturday 3 January 2009

I am finishing up my BA in business and I am trying to shop online for culinary schools. Some of the schools have associates in applied science and some have associates in occupational health. But, the programs are the same. Le cordon blue culinary arts program. The difference anyone. Help?

AAS is an applied technology degree. Occupational Health probably focuses more on safety related issues.

I have only heard of AAS in Occupational Health, and I think that they mean the same thing…kinda like Nursing. They say Associate Degree in Nursing, but it's really an AAS in Nursing (or AS, depending on what program you go through)
